Rehearsals
SPACB rehearses Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 in the bandroom at Central Heights Middle School (map).

Members are expected to take their role seriously and behave courteously and respectfully during rehearsals. Doing so ensures an enjoyable experience for all members.

Band members are expected to attend all rehearsals, but may give the conductor prior notification via email if a rehearsal will be missed. If enough rehearsals are missed, a member may not be able to participate in the next concert.

Schedule
SPACB typically performs six to eight concerts a year.

Spring, fall and holiday concerts are performed inside at venues such as school auditoriums. Summer concerts are played outside in area parks. Smaller groups participate in area parades.

SPACB is on hiatus between the holiday concert in December and spring rehearsals, which typically start in late April.

Dues
Band members pay dues of $25 per year, payable prior to the member's first concert of the year.

Students, seasonal members, and families with more than one band member pay reduced dues.

The dues cover expenses such as practice room rental, insurance, licensing fees, and equipment purchases.

Concert Attire
SPACB members wear black for indoor concerts. Black shirt, black lowerwear, black shoes.

Summer concerts are performed wearing red SPACB shirts, which members purchase for $25, and black pants or shorts, unless otherwise specified.

Administration
SPACB is a non-profit organization governed by a board of directors comprised primarily of band members.

Board members are elected by the general band membership.

The conductor is a non-voting member of the board, and has control over rehearsals, music selection, and other music-related concerns such as what part individual members play.
